This is a very important question that we should all be asking ourselves daily. Are we doing enough to give back to the community? Are we extending ourselves to help those in need? Sometimes we get wrapped up in our daily lives and our own problems that we become disconnected with what's happening around us and perhaps forget that there are always those much worse off than we are.

At Small Biz Home Biz United we try to do our part to help those in need and to help non profit organizations in the Durham region. At our meetings we collect non perishable food items and make up food hampers which we give to specific families in need in the community. We also donate to many organizations that are in need. We do a lot of work along with Mom And Kid Stuff, a gift basket business in Pickering. We put together gift baskets for many non profit organizations such as women's shelters, children's charities and any other organizations that we feel could benefit from our donations.

With the Christmas season around the corner many of the members of Small Biz Home Biz United have graciously donated food items and funds towards families in need. We appreciate the caring that our members have shown over the past 2 years. Last Christmas we assisted Toronto Mums with their Christmas party. One of our members was Santa for the afternoon and we helped with the set up and running of the party. Mom and Kid Stuff provided a large supply of gifts for the children and also many beautiful gifts for the moms. We were so happy to be a part of this great celebration and glad to have been able to see those smiles on the children's faces, many who may not have had a Christmas were it not for the donations and the generosity of many others who helped out and gave donations.

As Small Biz Home Biz United grows we will continue to strive towards doing more for the community and those in need. We are thankful to all of our members who so generously donate and continue to help out where they can.

We'd like to give a special thank you to Goody Canada who so generously has donated on numerous occasions throughout the past two years. Their donations have gone towards assisting Women's shelters in Durham and children in need in the Scarborough area.
